I listened to a man give a Ted Talk once who claimed not to own a cell phone, a pad or any other kind of computer. His car has a real, honest-to-goodness radio, the volume and the dial of which are rheostats; he controls those things – not – a computer. He must have mentioned fifty things that contemporary society takes for granted, things that he has replaced with older technology.
His radio shack answering machine lets callers know that Jack, the software engineer would call them back soon and to please leave a message. (He owns a software company that grosses beaucoup bucks.)
